Happydance
Privacy policy
How this microsite uses cookies, analytics and any information you choose to share, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This microsite (softwareengineerjobsliverpool.co.uk) is run by Happydance to advertise software engineering roles in Liverpool. This policy explains what personal data we handle when you visit, why, and the control you have over it. We keep it deliberately short and honest, in keeping with the rest of the site.
Who we are
Happydance is the data controller for this site. We are based in Aughton, Ormskirk, Merseyside, L39. If you have any question about this policy or your personal data, email [email protected].
What we collect, and why
We keep data collection to a minimum. There is no account to create and no contact form on this site.
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand which pages are read and how people move through the site, so we can improve it. This includes pages viewed, approximate location (from your IP, which Google truncates), device and browser type, and the site or search that referred you. We do not use this to identify you personally. If you do not consent, these cookies are not set and no analytics data is sent.
- Hosting and security logs. Our host, Vercel, processes standard server logs (including IP address and browser user-agent) to serve the site, keep it available and protect it from abuse. This does not depend on cookies.
- If you apply by email. The apply links open your own email app to write to [email protected]. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send (your name, contact details, CV and message) and use it solely to consider your application and reply.
Cookies and your choices
On your first visit we ask for your cookie choice through a banner. Until you choose, only strictly necessary storage is used and analytics/advertising signals are set to denied using Google Consent Mode v2. You can accept all, keep only what is essential, or set preferences by category.
You can change your mind at any time: use the control (also linked in the footer of every page). You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.
Lawful bases
- Consent for analytics and any advertising cookies. You can withdraw it at any time via cookie preferences.
- Legitimate interests for keeping the site secure, available and working (hosting logs), balanced against your rights.
- Legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract when we handle an application you send us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted processors who act on our instructions:
- Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — only if you consent to analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of this site.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained for no longer than needed and in line with our Google Analytics configuration. Application correspondence is kept for the duration of the recruitment process and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or provide it in a portable form, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
This site advertises jobs and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised "last updated" date above.
